Side Matches

Side matches are included in your main match fees. Speed events for Wild Bunch will be on Oct. 6th. Speed events for Cowboy, Long-Range, and Clays for both matches will be on Oct. 8th. For Cowboy, there will be separate side match awards for Juniors (J) and under.

Clays (5-Stand)

$10 for each round of 25 birds. You may pre-register for up to three rounds; if time allows, additional rounds may be purchased at the event. All proceeds will go to the SASS Scholorship Fund.

Long Range

Long Range will be held at the OKC Gun Club Silhouette Range, the location of the IHMSA World Championships. From the Cowboy range, go South on Hiwassee, to the first stop sign, Sorghum Mill, turn right. Go approximately 2/3 mile to the main entrance for the OKC Gun Club on your right. Go through the gate, at the fork, go left, it will be on your right, at the black fenced area.

Overall Rules

  • Shooter may stand, sit on ground or stool, or be prone on ground or platform.
  • Cross sticks are allowed.
  • Spotters are allowed. You may bring your own, or the T.O./Spotter will give direction if
    asked (they will not be held responsible for their calls, final decision is the shooter’s).
  • The top shooter will be the one with the most hits, with time serving as a tiebreaker.

Rifle Caliber Lever Action – Smokeless & Black Powder

  • All targets are at 200 meters
  • Target size is 26″ tall x 32″ wide (IHMSA rams)
  • Each shooter has 10 minutes to complete the course:
  • 2 sighters on swinger target
  • When ready say the line “Boomers”
  • At the beep, engage 10 targets in a sweep from either direction
  • Targets must fall to be scored as a hit and targets shot out of order are a miss

Rifle Caliber Single Shot – Smokeless & Black Powder

  • All targets are at 300 meters
  • Target size is 14″ tall x 22″ wide (IHMSA pigs)
  • Each shooter has 10 minutes to complete the course:
  • 2 sighters on swinger target
  • When ready say the line “Boomers”
  • At the beep, engage 10 targets in a sweep from either direction
  • Targets must fall to be scored as a hit and targets shot out of order are a miss

BAM – Bolt Action Military Rifle – Wild Bunch Shooters Only

The rifle must be an original caliber bolt-action rifle issued by any country to its military forces through the end of WWII. It must be as issued with original period battle sights and no external modifications. Original scoped rifles are not allowed. Internal modifications are allowed. Faithful reproductions are allowed. All BAM bullets must be of pure lead or lead alloy. Gas checks are allowed, but not jacketed bullets. Details on the shooting sequence will be provided at a later date.
